I know its hard to tell from the photo but the 1973-P has a satin gold/green luster and appears thicker than the 1981-P which has a rosy pink color.
Any ideas why the 1973-P has this very unusual color?

After 44 years in circulation, there is no telling what could have caused this. Maybe some guy who cleans out septic tanks found it at the bottom.

It’s Verdigris. I see it ALL day long every time I look at garage stored raw coins that came from albums. If you can magnify it enough and catch the light just right it looks like a fine green powder coating. You see it as a Green coin. Think of Miss Liberty. In my uneducated opinion
