This coin looks like it was not properly struck Can anyone tell me what the issue is here and possibly should I save coin. Feedback welcomed. Regards, Mike L.

let me guess, the cent is has a thicker collar on the bottom obverse, and the reverse the collar looks the same all the way around. Your cent was struck off center and there is die deterioration on the obverse features.

If the obverse was off center and the reverse was normal, it would be a misaligned die error, not an off-center strike.
I think there is some die deterioration but it also looks like the coin may have been dipped in acid at one point.
    Keep up the hunt!

Non cents, you need to re-evaluate your answer to my post about an 83 I posted on this forum. Titled 1983 DR RIMCUD. That coin was def. off center obversely but is was neatly in collar on the reverse. Your answers are conflicting.

I made no mention of a misaligned die in that thread, so I don't know what you are talking about. I noted that the die crack did not have vertical displacement, meaning the die crack was not raised significantly from the coin. I see no conflicting facts or reason for re-evaluation.

Hmm. How you just telling us what our opinion should be, so we don't waste your time.

OT: To me it looks like the coin spent some time in a pool filter.

Opinions are one thing, fact is another. I would look those two words up and check the difference. So it is a fact that if one side is struck off center and the other is normal...then that coin would be a misaligned die error?

Correct...if one side shows an offset and the other side remains normal, then it is a misaligned die error and not an off-center strike. That is fact. I even made a thread about it.

I never claimed your coin (the 1983) was a misaligned die error OR an off-center strike. There is absolutely no mention of it, so I don't know why you are dragging an unrelated thread into this one.

Cause sometimes I get bored and it tickles the **** out of me to get you guys riled up. **** half the posts I hit on gets people talking and thinking. That is what we are here for but since you mentioned my unrelated post, how about looking at it again and telling me if it is a misaligned die error and I will check out your thread in the above mentioned box.

    Uhh, what?
I still fail to see how my answers are conflicting. If you feel the need to call me out on it, the least you can do is explain how my answers are incorrect.

On the thread 1978 Bronze i read this post by frankstony:

"Be careful when talking about brass or bronze cents, Mike. I got kicked off LCR for asking if the coin the OP had was brass."

I think I understand why now.
