1973 Double Struck or Double Die

    I see some doubling in the eye and eyebrow and curious your thoughts on this being a double die vs worn and double struck

    Your small close up photos aren't helping. Full size photos are needed. I see heavy die deterioration.

    I also see Die Deterioration.
    Probably die deterioration doubling.

    And the correct Numismatic terminology is Doubled die not double die. Big difference.

    You see the striations on the field? That would cause worthless doubling. Not double struck either.

    Worn die doubling so no extra premium.

    Hi Curt, Die Deterioration Damage due to overuse of the die that cause the image to spread outward from the center towards the edges. Look at the IN GOD WE TRUST
    and compare the width of the IN to that of the ST near the center.
