Just found this 1972P Lincoln penny while going through a box of pennies. I think this might be a doubled die obverse? Please let me know if I am right or wrong. If it is a doubled die obverse, is it worth anything? I am new to the coin errors so I have a lot to learn. I hope the pictures are good enough. I only have my cell phone to take close up pictures.

Thanks for the web sites! I did not know that there were so many varieties of the 1972 DDO. On the second site it comes up on the MS63RB. I am guessing that this is what you think it might be graded as? Or it might be just wishfull thinking on my part. Thanks again for the input!
Congrats on the find. If you can post some images of the full obverse and reverse, we can give you our opinions on the grade.
I would be too, that's a great find. I have every regular issue cent since 1839 but I don't have the '72 DDO yet.
Make sure to check 002 also. 002 & 007 are very similar. Try to match up die markers. http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1972PDDO002.htm
It's 7 all the way . 2 has no tit coming off of the top bar of the " G " . And 7 does . Now here's the OP .
In the voice of Doc Holliday in Tombstone, "Oh I beg to differ sir." Pretty sure I see the gouge on the vest, but the OP needs to try to match the markers. You can't see it well enough to say, "All the way." You already missed this detail. See coppercoins images Rick: http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1972&die_id=1972p1do002&die_state=eds 002 GOD - See tit?
I not seeing this kind of doubling on " IN " as number 2 shows . Here's the OP and what #7 looks like . I'm sticking with #7, myself ...
I will take a look at the closely and check the 2 and 7 variations after I get done with my work around the house. Thanks for the info! Will let you know later.
"I did not know that there were so many varieties of the 1972 DDO." Ten obv d dies on the Philly Mint; six on the Denver Mint; five on the SF Mint. There's lots of 'em!
Well I got to look at the coin with a 10x and a 20x. I saw no Die gouge at the lip, under the UNUM, or under the VDB. I did see a die gouge east of the front shoulder. I looked at the tip coming out of the top of the G and it looks like both 7 and 2 have it. I think it depends on the lighting. I think I am leaning on the number 2 version. But I don't think it will have more or less value than the 7. But I maybe wrong and still learning.
The gouge on the vest seals it. Needed the image though. Thanks! I wasn't saying "for sure" 002 before. Just to check the markers. The 2 dies are very similar. The images were not clear enough. After the first new image, it is 002 beyond a shadow of a doubt. That gouge is a main marker for 002. Congrats!
