My friend came to me with the penny I have posted a picture of. The penny is a silver color almost like a nickel & non-magnetic. It weighs 3.1 grams. It is also 1.5 mm thick. It is well struck with high definition, unlike a plated coin. The diameter is the same as a penny. If anyone has any thoughts we would greatly appreciate it.

Someone plated it with zinc. I have personally come across a few of these. If you heat it up it will turn to a goldish color. (Brass)

Plated with some non-magnetic metal or metal alloy, IMHO.

It looks like every other plated coin I've ever seen.
