    Hi, I found a 1972d cent in pocket change, what makes this penny have bumps on the surface

    It was meant to be a joke. See how black this penny is. The grading system should label dirty penny as black edition, sounds better... Lol

    The spots are the beginning of corrosion, likely a sneeze pattern.
