So I came across these & decided to pick a few up for the fun of it . I had never heard anything about this error. Has anyone else seen this ? The tripling shows clearly at the top of the I and B of liberty, Also on the 2 in the date. Doubling shows through out the motto.
    Comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Give it time. Not everybody knows about these things and neither do they visit every day.

The tripled serif on the 2 looks very interesting. I didn't quite understand the post, is this a denver mint or philadelphia?

Looks like a triple die to me. When the mint makes the working dies, the new die gets heated and pressed into a master die several times this gives you the triple die variety.

    Hi,
It does look like three distinct points on that part of the two. It would be interesting if you could perhaps get a larger picture of that part of the 2 up. I had not heard of any like this, but there is a possibility of it being a tripled die.
