    found what i believe is a mint set 1972 s penny

    Looks like it came out of a Proof Set.

    Yes, it does appear to be an impaired proof. Not really worth much, but a neat find.

    Agreed cool find in circulation but it an impaired proof. I put them in flips and store them myself.

    If you CRH enough, you'll find many impaired proofs. Usually the proof is liberated because of a spot or other environmental issue, but some are clean. I received a dime and quarter in change, but probably another 2 dozen impaired proofs from CRH events (mostly nickels). Fun find!!

    You'll probably find many more like this. I've found many proofs (mostly cents) in circulation over the years. Crazy how so many make it into circulation.
