1972 quarter error?

    i have a 1972 quarter. The 72 on appears to be bolder then the others. On the reverse side the “U” is warn down and the “NI” are extremely close together. Could it be a Possible error?

    Not an error. Just a worn die and/or 40 years of wear.

    You can also tell by his hair how it all smoothed out.
