Hi guys AND gals! It’s been a REALLY long time since I’ve posted on here, but hopefully to hear some positive comments back on this penny! I think I have found the EVER SO RARE FS-104!! Please let me know what you think! And THANK YOU in advance!!
The images of GOD shows what the doubling should look,like..as its the best pup on this variety. However not even close...sorry but it is what it is....a worn die.
I don’t know if this helps me any, but this is “GOD” under my microscope. I know- pics aren’t all that! Lol!
Thank you again to all! I seriously don’t doubt anything you guys are saying!! When I saw this had all the die markers listed that I could find- I FREAKED! I know- completely out of character!! Thanks again!
Thanks that helped. See those lines that are on the surface in the fields. They are caused by a worn die.
Remember that a true Doubled Die, one image such as the word "GOD" stays the same size as a non-DD regular cent of the same period AND adds the part of the doubling. This usually shows best on the edge of the lettering. When it is die damage, the letter is cut into portions so the vertical and/or horizontal portions of the letter is less the width of either portion of a normal cent. 1955/55 look at the areas the 2 raised die image touch and notice the width. Also, though hard to see usually, the Height of the lettering is usually close to the same, whereas when it is not a DD, one part can be normal height and the other flattened. The 1936 is a DDO, but not as strong as the 1955. Hope this helps, Jim
You know I'm always rooting for you, but it appears to be DDD to me also. Sorry, no corvette this week.
Strike doubling all the way. That's the trouble with these microscopes and cameras, you guys are magnifying normal to an abnormal degree and photographing what's normal on every coin thinking it's abnormal. It's abnormal because you're looking at it at an abnormal magnification, that's all.
