Today I got 2 rolls of Ike dollars from the bank. I was wondering where I can find information on telling and showing what type 2 reverse looks like? In the coin values guides they call it High Relief Earth. Thanks
The type 1 reverses have a bolder style font for the lettering than the type 2's. side-by-side they are very easy to differentiate. Also there are good photos in the Red Book.
Here is a website that gives good info on the subject: http://www.supercoin.com/iketypes/index.htm Here are the three examples of the 1972 types: Type 1: Type 2: Type 3: Type 1: Type 2: Type 3: Hope this helps...Mike
