I'm back again...lol... I just came across this in my collection and I know that 1972 was a year for different errors. But what is this?? Thank You for the help and advice in advance , pretty neat coin !

Mechanical Doubling or even Die Deterioration Doubling

Not a Doubled Die

The correct Numismatic Terminology is Doubled Die.. not double die. Big difference!

 

That's a clear example of what would fall under the strike doubling category.
