1972 dime error?

    The way IN & THE are flattened out makes me think PMD

    Thanks everyone, PMD it is... I'm becoming a coin addict, I spent yesterday examining coins instead of working. If this keeps up I will need an intervention soon! grin.

    I found this coin in a mint set that is similar to your coins. I don't know the value or how it happened but I don't think it's a post mint error.

    If it may not be PMD could it be a bit of a grease filled die?

    I don't know. I'm new to the coin collecting world! I looked at my coin a bit more today and it seems to me like "united states" on the back is flattened a little. I wish I could get better pictures.
