Thanks in advance for taking a look at this Lincoln Cent, found in a roll from the grocery store earlier. There is obvious doubling in the date, and no apparent doubling anywhere else. I literally struggled to get the best picture I could, (with my loupe as the zoom-in for my camera) and I apologize if it isn't sufficient. Let me know what you think from what you can see, keeping in mind I could always try to take a better picture in different lighting later! Is this a real DDO, a counterfeit? What's it worth guys and gals? Thanks. Joshua M.
This appears to be the common Strike Doubling, Joshua. Do you notice how the secondary numbers are almost like a shadow or shelf? That is the result of the die slightly shifting during the strike causing that shadow, or slide of the metal. On a genuine Doubled Die, you will see that the device in question will be directly next to one another, like they're both equal. < Here is a genuine Doubled Die
