Hi, I have this 1972 Lincoln cent which is an obvious DD. I was wondering what the value of this would be and if it would be worth it for me to get it graded.
    Thanks. IMG_4593.JPG IMG_E4597.JPG IMG_E4593.JPG IMG_E4599.JPG

At first I thought it was real, but now I think it might be a counterfeit.

    What makes you say that?

The coin has damaged surfaces, but beside that,
there is no way we can tell (or see) any of the
doubling you mention from those 'too faraway' photos.

The surfaces. The wear looks very fake, the rims are thicker than usual, the devices are weak. I am almost certain this is fake. These are very popular to counterfeit.

I can see the doubling very clearly.
EDIT: The first picture is very blurry. I think you only saw that one.

    Thanks for the additional photos.

    I believe it's a counterfeit too, now.

1.14 grams right? That is waaaaaaaaaaay off.

That scale is not going to work. The weight needs to be in grams.
Either way the coin seems to be off. I question it's authenticity also.

If that scale is accurate in oz, then it should just be a simple conversion from oz to gm, no?

It should except the measurement goes up by quite a bit of weight when it is rounded off to the tenth of an OZ.
