1972 D NICKEL

Maybe not a big deal, but isn't the D farther away from the 2 than it should be?
I mean, it looks like it is almost on his ponytail....

What Frank said but you won't see this after 1989 when they incorporated the MM into the working die. ( I think I have that date right )

I've got one 1971-D. In fact I saw one or two others same year that were almost as far away as this. So I thought it was common for that year.

 

I will have to start keepin an eye out for them now....
