Found this one this past weekend at a small local coin show The biggest Moon Line Die Clash I have now. runs from the edge of the moon on the right down through "LLA" of Dollar up through the Largest Crater, All the way up to the Wing tip of the Eagle's Left Wing. Also has a Talon Head Die Clash but did not show up in photograph. Stewart
Die Clashes can and do occur on all years and Mint Marks. And the can get quite extensive as to the number of them on one coin. So if you find one Die Clash in one spot you may want to look for others on the same coin I have examples with as many as four and five Die Clash elements on one coin. For me they are a VERY Interesting Variety to collect:eat: Stewart
OK thanks Stewart, I've never really looked at my Ikes very close. I've got around 50 or so, so I better get busy...
Abe Here is a Link to The Place for studying Eisenhower Varieties. We study them in great detail there. And there have been quite a few new Variety Discoveries in the Eisenhower Dollar Series this past year. http://www.ikegroup.org/ Stewart
It's even more fun when it happens twice..........kind of a Muh-Moonline! I "think" this is a 1971-D but cannot remember for sure.
is there such a thing as a 1972d type I or type II? Been looking through my ikes and some D coins almost look like type 1's. maybe my eyes are just going.
To answer your question, No. All 1972-D IKEs are Type 1 coins. If you find one with a Type 2 reverse..........you're in the money. If you are referring to the Obverse Design Variety, all 1972-D IKEs are of ODV-001. Again, if you come across a 1972-S with ODV-002, ODV-003, or ODV-004.........you're in the money.
Stewart great post.I also have quit a few of Ikes. I will be spending some time in the web site you posted.
