First off, I don't think its a DDR. It's a 1972 D Ike Dollar. The area of focus is D STATES OF A. There is also a die break going through the O on ONE. You can tell DOLLAR has machine doubling, the top letters look stronger than that (at least on my microscope they do). I'm curious on what exactly this error is (is it just machine doubling or is it die deteriorate doubling?) Hopefully some experts can help me.
