I stopped at the bank and got 20 rolls of cents. On the 3rd roll I found this guy. It looks like
    http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1972&die_id=1972d1do001&die_state=lds
it has a thick L in the right spot and there is minor doubling on the T and Y in liberty, but other letters are too worn. I did notice something weird on the reverse.

I know this coin has some strike doubling but it looks 100% like a 72d 2xdie with strike doubling to me.

Where do you see the strike doubling?

I beleive it may be Master Die Doubling.

It's that shiny shadow around the letters where the light is, you can also see that the coin was struck twice by the rim.

Upon a closer look, it may be the 006. The reverse is ejection doubling.

    Hi skrilla,
The portions of the coin you show do look like the doubled die CONECA 2-0-1, or
LCDDO-1972D-02, in my book "The Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents" by John Wexler and Kevin Flynn.

    Sweet, thanks.

Is that ejection doubling on the L and U on the reverse? They look kinda distinct as opposed to what I've seen on more modern coins. I know that some things seem to look different on copper and zinc cents.
