1972-D DDO

Found this beauty in a coin roll I picked up in Vt. Can't find a match but looks like a DDO to me. Lou

It doesn't seem to match any of the listings on VarietyVista.com or Doubleddie.com....

 

What you are seeing on your mint mark is what you are seeing on your date, it is all strike doubling. At that magnification level you will see it almost anywhere on almost every coin. The mint mark was not on the master die then, btw. It pays to remember that when you are looking for these insignificant doubled dies.

 

I don't think so, but my batting average isn't good.

 

It’s MD. This is my 1972 Doubled Die. I don’t have a D mint mark that’s doubled.

 

I know it's not that DDO, yours is beautiful.

Anytime u see the same doubling on the devices and MM, it is a dead give away for DDD.
