1972 D Cent

    Still learning here on what is a doubled die. IS this doubled or something else on the 2 in the date?

    It doesn't look like doubling to me. Maybe it is a die gouge or die chip.

    Thanks Chris. What really got me was that the 2 looks like it has another 2 under it but slightly rotated forward and left and the tail is what looks like a die chip. It may be hard to tell in the pictures, but can better be seen in the first small thumbnail picture.

    I am not convinced. It looks a lot like a second 2, at least from these pictures. Further investigation is required.
