    Looks harshly scrubbed as well, worth face value.

    Hogwash! It's an alloy, not Grade A copper.

    It's still an alloy. You can't sell them for more than a cent. It cost too much to refine them to grade A copper.

    If, and I do mean if, it were legal to melt copper cents, reclamation centers will only pay about 25% of the typical price of Grade A copper because it is an alloy. If you don't believe me, try calling reclamation centers in the surrounding states where you live (like I did!) and ask them what they will pay for alloyed copper. You don't even have to mention anything about copper cents.
