This one has a lot of die crack but not sure of the discoloration. Any ideas on this? There also may be some evidence of a die clash. IMG_20180522_180759994_HDR.jpg IMG_20180522_180041309_HDR.jpg IMG_20180522_180823657_HDR.jpg IMG_20180522_175431681_HDR.jpg

You sure that is not the plating/paint coming off? I would find a way to take the black stuff off.

It's all raised and won't come off. Soaked in Vinegar and salt mixture for a few minutes then rinsed thoroughly..

Your coin was coated with something (paint?). The raised areas are in the coating, not coin. Notice how none of the "cracks" are in the uncoated area. Just environmental damage.

BTW: Nice pics. Makes it easy to understand what you're asking and to provide an explanation

I also think it's in the 'coating'. You can also try acetone, which works great if it is paint. Soak it for a few minutes and you can also use acetone and a q-tip to GENTLY rub the areas.

    Thanks I'll try that!
