I have a few pics of a 1971 penny (I apologize for the fuzziness of some of them) anyone have any input for me? Thank you!!!!
Not a doubled die, just machine doubling caused by the coin quickly shifting when being struck. Very common with no added value. Real die doubling is caused by the die that strikes the coin being doubled, hence the term, "Doubled Die". A real doubled die shows raised shelf-like doubling that looks like part of the design. Whereas machine doubling is ghost like and fuzzy and not very raised.
