1971 Lincoln Cent 1/3 Thickness of Regular Cent

    Found roll searching years ago. It is 1/3 thickness of regular cent. It is a copper metal composition. I do not have a scale, but it's weight is comparable to 2/3 of the metal missing from a regular coin. IMG_0029.JPG IMG_0030.JPG IMG_0031.JPG IMG_0033.JPG

    it was soaked for a time in acid. probably part of a school science experiment

    There has been a few of these posted before, most remark that it is from an acid soak/bath as all the features are dissolved evenly.

    Thanks for the lesson. I just figured out how to upload a picture today to show. I knew it was real, but could not figure how the coin could shrink from the inside out, but not through wear outside in.
