There is a small 4 just to the right of the 1 in the date. Has anyone heard of this or is it just normal and doesn't show up on the pictures? Please let me know if I need better pictures.
    Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to cointalk!

Looks to be a die chip, if thats the case, it holds no extra value.

I was wondering because it actually looks like a 4.
Thank you so much for the reply.

I'd need a better close-up that isn't so blurry. Does it appear to be raised or recessed?

    Chris,
I will try to get a better picture for you, but it appears to be raised.
    Thank you

I thought it was incuse ? But I am unaware af any error or variety that has this. It's either debris in the die (strike through) or a die chip.

I found a 1964 D a few years ago that has an extra olive. I mean exact in size, raised exactly like the other olives. I sent it in and it came back a die chip. Man, I really thought I had a "discovery" piece !! But that's why we keep looking.

    Good eye !
