Cool coin. Unfortunately, half dollars made after 1970 are (for the most part) only worth 50 cents. They are clad so they have a low melt value (unlike the silver half dollars of earlier years). 1971 was the first year that half dollars were clad as opposed to 40% silver (1965-1970). Not worth much, but still a cool coin to hold on to.

Yes, it has a value of 50 cents. Not that this can actually buy anything, but that's what it's worth.
