I would like to find out if anyone knows what's going on here? This nickel has a perfect round line that goes straight through the bottom of the words ( five cents )and looks as though it smears them , also there is a dent on the top rim above jeffersons head error coins 2012-12-30 002 (512x384).jpg error coins 2012-12-30 009.jpg error coins 2012-12-30 025.jpg error coins 2012-12-30 019.jpg error coins 2012-12-30 005.jpg

No the copper colored on is worth a couple of dollars, just that the damage makes it worth less. How much is it worth, I'd guess $5-$10

I like Jefferson Nickels and Texas Holdem. Don't think you are gonna have much luck finding a valuable circulated Jeff though. Even the most sought after varieties are worth less than $100 in the circulated grades. Here is a 1939 Doubled Monticello in VF.

when i bought a folder filled with nickels (1938-1961) my 1969 coin is in just a little
better condition. the set also included PROOFS from the 1950s, including the mintmark and year when only 7 million were minted. how much would a proof be from that year??

I don't collect Jefferson proofs and I know this answer may sound a little mean, but my answer is anywhere from 5 cents to not much.
