I am still going through a box of halfs and I found this beauty of a half dollar. Is this a die crack?

It doesn't look like a D/C to me. Is it incuse(recessed)? I've never seen a D/C that randomly appears in the middle of the field. They start at beads, denticles, serif tips, letter feet, etc.

Looks more like a lamination problem.

I don't think it is a die crack. It looks more like a planchet defect that did not smooth out with the striking of the coin.

    Maybe lamination error?

Speaking of small laminations. It could be they are real hard to detect. This one was much easier to see because it has started to peel/loosen from the surface.
