There are some Copper Cents that were struck on Thinner than normal planchets. But Yours is within tolerance.
They have to be thinner and lighter to be considered desirable by error collectors.

The copper cent is 3.11 grams and there is a +/- of .13
Putting the range at 2.98-3.24. (The zinc is 2.5g and also +/- .13).
Even though 2.95 is slightly below that range, it could have lost a trace amount of weight from circulation in 40 years, and perhaps your scale is not exact.
When there is a significant difference, like in Paddymans's coins then you have something.

Just ever so slightly out of tolerance, but no premium for a "thin planchet" cent only .03 grams light. Find one .4 grams out of tolerance and you will see some interest from error collectors.

At the time I wrote that post, I was unaware in a change of the
zinc cent tolerance which is +/- .10 g. 2.40-2.60 range.
