What do you grade this coin? I might just send this to PCGS. Based on my web searching, it could be one of the finest known IMO.

My shots are a little funky though the AirTite so I included some angled shots so you can see the luster, it's BLAZING:

I was going to say 65 too but what do I know. If it were a morgan it'd be 63.

Thad, you're the Lincolnologist so if your gut says send it then off he goes :)

It's red for sure but lots of dings. Don't know how that would effect the grading but I like collecting Lincolns MS66 RED and I don't have one with anywhere near that amount!

    I'd go 65

What is the difference between a PCGS MS66 Ebay purchase or the same graded coin PCGS MS66 Heritage auction purchase -

67 seems pretty optimistic to me especially if it would make it a high dollar condition rarity. PCGS is very well aware of their population reports and seem hesitant to add another to the top. I would call it a mid MS-66 RD.

    I'd say high 65?

You've got to be joking! Your obverse doesn't even come close, and anyone in their right mind knows that the reverse will rarely affect an upward movement in overall grade.

Go ahead and submit it! Of course, I know if it comes back at a lower grade, we will never hear from you.

OK Chris, you're being a little rough. I got your opinion my friend.

I won't even hazard a guess, it will be interesting to see what it does grade at.

BTW, 65 if it really has booming luster, maybe 66

With the numbers being tossed about in this thread, I choose not to offer an opinion at all aside to mention I haven't seen a number less than two higher than I'd give it. What'd they do, throw the rules out the window for Memorials?

That NGC coin would struggle to make 63 as a Wheatie.
