I was going through a pile of discarded/cleaned coins, looking for junk silver, when I found this Ike. I must have put it in that pile when I was younger (due to some wiping/hairlines), but now I am thinking that the mirror finish is from the mint and unrelated to the "cleaning"?

By my eye: The obverse devices are seriously mirrored, and this mirrored surface extends a into the fields, transitioning into some very heavy/lustrous flowlines (which reflect my Redbook well themselves). The reverse is more mirrored in the fields. Lots of well defined die-polish lines appear on on reverse but didn't show up in the pics.

I have added pictures of the two opposite states, mirror v luster, for input. Despite the wiping and black spots, I am intrigued by this coin... it does look much nicer in person.

I agree. It look like it spent a few minutes on a rouge wheel.
