1971 D Cent

    Hey guys I have this 1971 here and was wanting to see if anybody could help me all the lettering on the front and back Is really fat. Had never seen one I've compared to others and haven't found anything like it I appreciate it thank you.     Hi Dave, IMO, This is a sign of "Late Die Stage Strike". When Dies get worn the lettering and designs seem to expand and get rounded. they loose there sharpness that new dies have. They also loose their depth, which in turn will make the relief of the coin shallow. The other posibility is a slight Doubling on the die. Which will be very hard to determine with circulation wear.
