1971 D cent all black

This coin weighed in at 3.20 grams . i found one of these last winter when new to roll hunting . but it was a 1991 looks like there is no copper plating to it . not stains or nothing like that .

It's just damage. No way to know for sure what caused it.

 

This would not have been copper plated Jacob. Copper plating started with the 1982 cents. This is some sort of environmental damage. What kind, I'm not sure.

 

Damage. It appears to have been exposed to something it didn't appreciate.
