1970s Lincoln cent

Variety Vista has the 1970s Lincoln cent mm as being tall. What's going on with this s? Did the environment smash It down.? It looks smaller and thicker, maybe the punch was starting to get worn down.

Your coin has the tall MM. Punches don't get worn down. The dies get over used. There are many reasons for a MM to be thicker than normal. These photos aren't clear enough to help with the reason why.

 

The Mintmark is the exact style that it should be. A tall "S".

 

Looks normal to me.
