Here's another "Help Please!" for a Lincoln die crack-this one is on a 1970S Large Date. I found not one but two of these searching rolls of 70S BU cents that I bought. Just like the 1960 that I have a thread for, I can't find any info on this guy either and would greatly appreciate any info on variety, websites, etc. on these two. I haven't fininshed searching the rolls yet (I have 3 more rolls) so I'm not sure if I will come across more, but a die marker that I noticed for both of them is a line coming out of the top of the 0 in the date, similar to what is shown for some of the doubled 0s on some varieties. Thanks super-variety-sleuthers (Tigger and Pooh reference- I have a 4 year old !)
Die cracks are common to the Lincoln cent series. In general, they are of little to no interest to collectors.
I'm not concerned about or questioning if it carries a premium, but I am wondering if it is associated with and useful in attributing any of the varieties that year. Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear on that. I'm up with bad allergies when I should be sleeping lol. I just found it odd that there was no mention of anything as obvious as this is anywhere on any site I've searched. My apologies for not making my intentions clearer.
