1970 small date?

    Came across this in a roll. What do you think? Small Date?

    I zoomed in but it's blurry that way. You need a better picture, but from what I can see I think it's a large date.

    Definitely Large date. I use the dropped 7 as a marker on these bad boys.

    I was trying to see the loop on 9, but saw the 7 is low so I think it's large date.

    It's a large date. No question about it. The LIBERTY is strong, the loop of the 9 is not curved inward, the crease of the 7 is sharp, and the 7 is beneath the the 0.


    Always good to check though, right? ;)

    Keep searching though! These are difficult for people to identify, but one of the points given about the small date is they have a very weak LIBERTY. The large date usually has a strong one, but the small one never does.

    You can't go by the word liberty to tell if it's a large or small date..I remember when I said the same response and RLM responded that he has seen 70-s small dates that had the word "Liberty" look/come from what would be on a 70-s L/D
