Large. The curl of the 9 needs to go all the way around in the small.

There are other markers. A weakly struck LIBERTY, the point of the 9 is sharp in the SD and blunt in the LD.
But the curl of the 9 is the strongest marker I believe. Almost every one I have ever seen that curl points down to the foot of the 7 as in the photo.
