1970-S - what's up with this?

    This is a 1970-S with some sort of doubling/error...looks sort of like a small 7 and 9 on a large 7 and 9, but who knows...

    Any ideas out there?

    It's machine doubling. Very common on S-mint cents from 1968 - 1972.
