1970 s small date

    Are either of these the small date variety. I have trouble telling the difference & after I look at it long enough I see what I want to instead of what's really there.. just looking for a second opinion, thanks in advance IMG_20160810_100410.jpg IMG_20160810_101210.jpg

    no, those are both large date

    where the 9 thingy points to or the level of the 7 will tell you what you have.

    It's easy to tell the 1970 small date. And you don't have to look at the date. Just look at Liberty. If Liberty is soft and washed out...weak...as in the above photo, it's a small date. Large date coins exhibit a full, well struck liberty...again, reference above photo. This is a variety you can find easily with the naked eye.
