Good afternoon CTC! Is this simply machine doubling on the obverse of this 1970 s Proof Roosevelt dime? Viewing it at various angles in person, you can see the effect aforementioned, on the date as well. Basically it's on all of the outer devices of the coin, except for the mint mark (not that I can see up close at least). And as you can see, the reverse has the appearance of a normal coin, in a similarly respective capacity that is.

Please let me know what you all think and ALL help is greatly appreciated! Thanks again! 1970 S Proof Lincoln cent ddo2.jpg 1970 S Proof Lincoln cent rev1.jpg 1970 S Proof Lincoln cent rev2.jpg

The lighting tends to play tricks on most people where proof coins are concerned. I don't see any doubling.

It's EXTREMELY difficult to see on this and many proofs, as you said, that's why I'm leaning towards the machine doubling idea my self, but am still uncertain at this point.:bucktooth:

Those are just glares because of the shiny surface.

I don't see any doubling. It looks like a normal proof.
