Depends on if it's a large date 70 S or small date 70 S. The small date is the most desirable and rarer than the large date.

This is what to look for on the large date:

The top of the 7 is level with the top of the 9 is the small date.

If it's not level with the top of the 9, it's the large date.

Yours looks like the large date.

Yours is a large date and worth minimum for a 95% copper coin. The easier way for me to tell from photos is the end of the loop of the "9" rather than the levels or strength of liberty. If the end of the loop points to the bottom tip of the 7 it is a large date. If it points to the middle of the 7, it is a small date. Also on the 7 of the large date, the horizontal top and the vertical section of it has a diagonal line which is relatively easy to see, where as the small date has a smooth junction. You can see this is BUncirculated photos above.

Definately a large date, worth melt in circulated condition.

If you could melt them then yes it would be worth melt. ;)

    Worth exactly one US cent.

I'd gladly sell you all my copper cents for 2 cents each if you think they're really worth that much. PM me? :)
