The first photo not as clear but especially the last T in Trust you can see doubling. Let me rephrase that. I can see... Let me know what you guys think? Winner winner chicken dinner or toe nails for dinner again ? 0511170808.jpg 0511170805c.jpg 0511170802.jpg 0511170804a.jpg 0511170806d.jpg 0511170802a.jpg

My bad. Thought I posted them. This is just me cropping. If blurry I will upload a close up in 10 min.

That's what I was thinking. I knew it definitely wasn't 101. If I make that big of mistake even 6 months in its time for a new hobby. I will have better camera eventually. Holding phone is a pain. Ill try and set up a prop to hold it till I have microscope or macro camera.

Where I really though I could see it was bottom west of S , the N, The G bottom curve looks like split pretty wide, the O. They all look the strongest to me but noticeable on all. Whatever it is causing the effect 0511172231a.jpg 0511172231b.jpg 0511172228a.jpg 0511172232b.jpg 0511172232c.jpg 0511172232a.jpg 0511172231.jpg

Okay, are you zooming in with the loupe in front of your camera? You shouldn't need to zoom in more than about 25% the capability of your camera. Doing more ends up causing it to use digital zoom and starts to distort the image. Either you zoomed in with your camera, or you had really bad lighting, but the images are too blurry to determine anything (however, I'm leaning to a no at the moment).

Closeups should more closely look like these where you can still zoom in on the photo (taken with iPhone 5 and a 10 loupe):

Most of the distortions that might look like doubled are from die deterioration or as most say, a well worn die. The edges of the letters and date and other devices on a working die start to wear or chip off on the edge, this depression then is pressed as a upraised piece of metal along the true edge, and this is seen by many as a DD!! but it isn't. It takes some time and practice and a lot of looking at real DD coin to see. Check the DD on Coppercoins. com and you will see examples. Jim

Thanks. That's exactly what I was doing. I couldn't get light between loupe and coin properly so I was holding back and zooming through mag. I will try this method with no zoom and better light.
