Hi everyone. The reverse is showing impressions of the columns and figures on the steps, below the steps to the bottom rim and again, a bit fainter, above the roof to the upper rim. Obviously not a clash, but the impression must of been on the die when this was struck. Also the obverse rim on the left half is a lot thicker than the right. Please educate me further
That's one word for it. I have never seen anything like it before. A clash on the obverse i can understand, but this is beyond me.
The obverse is a slight misaligned die strike. Are the lines on the reverse raised or incused? I have a couple of LMCs the that look a lot like this but the lines are flat with the fields and the devices.
I think it is due to a wood-grain effect. What appear to be columns, are different widths than the real columns and run the full length of the coin. This could also be due to roller marks that have let the coin tone differently to create lines.
Well they are certainly unusual. I'll put it in a flip and keep it, don't think i'll stumble across many more.
