On the reverse, 1st noticed the faint letters off the left wing just down from the U in United. Went looking harder and I swear I can see different smaller faint letters here and there. I know this isn't a famous "Canadian" error, but could it be something else? I have searched the net with no results. Maybe I'm just looking too hard and it's not really anything??? Thanks for any help

The only letter I can see near the U in UNITED is the letter N.

Welcome to CT. I'm sure not seeing what you are. Looks like a normal circulated quarter to me.

I think he means the damage on the edge of the left wing. It's in the area the OP described.

It's unlikely to be struck over another coin. That does happen occasionally,
but with the trillions of coins that have been struck, I wouldn't go looking for one.
To be struck over another coin it would have to be the same size or smaller.
If it was struck over a coin with a different composition, the size, color and weight would be different. If it lines up with other quarters in a stack, it's a quarter. If it weighs the same as a quarter, etc.
How did this different coin end up in a bin of quarter blanks on their way to becoming minted 1970-D coins?
