Welcome! Before 1990, mint marks were punched into each die by hand. Due to this, you'll see a lot of variation in mint mark position. This is normal.
Yeah, I've found lots of "Blob-S" mintmarks on 1970's cents. I thought it was somethin' special. Turns out not so much.
