    Hello everyone,
This is my second and final Birthday thread for today :woot:

I recently received something really neat from a fellow member here in CoinTalk as a gift to me :smug:

@Inspector43 gifted me a neat 1970 Blue Book - Handbook on US Coins. I want to give much thanks to DZ from Texas for my cool Birthday gift!

I also ordered and received a 1971 Red Book as a gift to myself. It's from my birth year.

I've was curious what was the value back then for my 1853 Seated Liberty Quarter I metal detected a few years ago.

@paddyman98 that is really neat. Now you can see what the values were before you were born as well the impact your birth had on the hobby. Many more Ed.

I just noticed I had put 1953 instead of 1853 in my title.. nobody noticed :wacky:

    I just corrected it!

I just got back on and you received a nice gift. Since you bought your birth year book I couldn’t help but notice that the prices doubled or went up a little more than doubling. Was that to honor you for being born? :):):)

Using the evidence at hand that is the only possible conclusion.

If you want to know the value of that coin, you need to grade and then net grade it.

The sharpness grade falls in the Ch VF to EF-40 range. The coin has been cleaned and probably has some roughness in the brownish areas from having been in the ground. I think you are looking at the prices in the VG to Fine area, although many collectors would prefer a straight graded pieces to a net graded one. That would make it closer to VG.
