Hello, I am new to coin talk and still learning. I have been collecting coins all my life and enjoy looking at the old, new and all different types. I have a Lincoln penny that I am trying to get some information on and would like some help. The front looks like a struck through coin and the back looks fine. Has anyone every seen one like this?

It is a struck thru - it's struck
    thru a thinning die cap.

As the Die Cap thins out over numerous
strikes, the Lincoln design starts to show
thru the thinning piece of metal that covers
    the die.

Scarce, not rare, and fairly easily found
(scarcer to find one in circulation, though!)

That's better than just a simple
    'struck thru' grease error.

Nice struck through die cap :) I posted some of mine the other day. None look as cool as yours though!

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

It makes my eyes water just to look at it. Mental games.

Naw. Not worth what you would pay in fees. Cool find but I see them sell on ebay for ~$20 range give or take.

Yes, as mentioned above, they're about $20-$25 retail coins.

There's one up on ebay right now for $35 starting bid, and another
at $28. That's the 'asking' price, and I would think that your coin,
should you choose to put it up on Ebay for auction, would bring the
    $20-$25 range.

    Nice find.

Wrong. It would cost more to get it graded than it is worth. Don't spread bunk information.
