Anyone know what variety this 1969 S/S business strike nickel is? I can't find any pictures or descriptions online.
That the top of the secondary image is flat (shelf-like) is a tipoff that this is probablt ejection doubling or machine doubling. Thisa is probably caused by the press not being securely bolted to the floor and the secfondary vibrations causing secondary images but some believe the coin is scraped across the die as it's being ejected. Perhaps either process might cause it but most consider these uncollectible.
Thanks guys. I managed to get a better picture...the top does indeed look flat. The middle is interesting-looking though.
