The glare from the light source gives the impression of RPM. If you alter the light direction, you will get a different photo. Try to enlarge the MM and shoot photos with light from different positions, ie. N, S, E and W. Only one business strike (007) is referenced on VV and it is CCW.
1968-1974 S had buisness strikes in addition to proofs. Nickels suffered the same dilemma as cents during this period with filled or slightly filled mint marks in addition to die deterioration issues which gave the appearance of rpm's.
